If anyone knows me (like at all!) will know I love to eat amazing food and drink the odd bevie. Spending two summers in the paradise that is The Hamptons, it got me thinking about my absolute FAV places to eat and drink in Manhattan. For anyone heading for Christmas first of all,you lucky divil, second of all these spots are just gorg and worth every minute of your time!

The Cocktails: The Standard, 848 Washington St, New York, NY 10014, United States
The Rooftop bar: 230 Fifth, 230 5th Ave, New York, NY 10001, USA
The Experience: Booze Cruise around the Statue of Liberty (any with a free bar will do just fine!)
Carmines is the most YUM share style Italian. It’s super authentic and always has people flowing out of the door waiting to get a seat, which is what you want. Definitely worth waiting for a table. The shrimp parmigiana is salty and sweet and all kinds of hell good. The stuffed artichoke is a dish so different to what we would find in any Italian in Ireland, creamy and delicious. Every dish serves four to six people so come hungry and with a crowd. PS: you can bring home food because odds are you won’t finish it all. Bellissimo!
Remember that famous brawl between Jay Z and Solange in the elevator? Yeah? That’s in The Standard Hotel! GAS! Go to the side of the hotel and join the que to the cocktail bar at the very top of the hotel. The elevator takes you right into a club that has a jacuzzi in the middle of the dancefloor and a view that expands the entire Hudson River and the Meat Packing District… STUNNING! It’s free entry but the cocktails are pricey enough at 15-20$ per cocktail. For the view and the jacuzzi alone its worth every bit. Expect GOGO dancers!
Wanna see the best view in NYC? Looking directly at the Rockefeller Center is 230 Fifth off 5th Ave. The best thing about this rooftop bar is the fact that you can see all of Manhattan including the amazing Rockefeller from the comfort of a fab seat and no sweaty ques full of tourists. The food is a perfect filler for lunch or nibbly bits to keep you going. A complete all rounder. V stylish!
One of the stand out memories of my life is the moment my best friend Kayleigh and I were on a booze cruise with some fab pals from work. Just as Alicia Key’s song New York came on, we rounded the Statue of Liberty dancing under the moonlight. The most surreal experience of my life. The free bar is also a big plus… the tickets for these cruises range from 20-150$, we paid 40$ for unlimited drinks and it was just perfect.
Hit up any of these and you’ll be a happy tourist for sure!
